My commitment is to never sell, rent or share any information about you for other e-mail, direct mail, or telemarketing purposes. I do not do any telemarketing.
INFORMATION I GATHER
Marisu.biz (Marisu Thomas) gathers the following types of information:
1) Data that users provide through optional, voluntary registration on my site.
2) Data provided by individuals who have given me permission to e-mail advertising material to them.
I promise I will never sell, rent or share this information.
ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS
Marisu.biz offers free electronic newsletters to users. The primary content of these newsletters is advertising material. I will not place anyone on my e-mail mailing list without their permission. Customers may remove themselves from my mailing list by following the instructions contained in every newsletter.
COOKIES
A cookie is a small data file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you've visited. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Some of my advertisers may use cookies for statistical purposes. I research their privacy policies before adding them to my site to be sure they intend to respect your privacy. Although I cannot be responsible for the actions of the advertisers, I only accept advertisers whom I believe to follow ethical privacy policies. You should not give out any information without reading the store's privacy policy and being satisfied that it is acceptable. My only use of cookies will be to determine which pages receive the most traffic; they will not have the ability to provide me with any information about individuals who visit my pages.
If you've set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie.
You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser.
USE OF THE INFORMATION
I use information that users and other individuals voluntarily provide in order to send out electronic newsletters periodically, and occasionally send out special editions when I think subscribers might be particularly interested in a special product or promotion.
I use tracking information to determine which areas of my site users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. I will not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This will help me continue to build a better service for you.
A search function may be added to my site, in which case I may track search terms entered in the search function as one of many measures of determining what interests my users. But I will not track which terms a particular user enters.
My advertisers create reports on user traffic patterns and dollar amounts purchased through my web site in order to compute my commissions, to advertise more effectively and to provide me with advertisements that are suited to my users' needs. These reports are made available to me for my use in tailoring my content to be more useful to you and in determining the amount of commissions I will receive. However, no individual personal information is shared with me, so I will never know that a specific user clicked an ad. My advertisers do not share any information about individual users with me.
